Issue if it could, but I am trying my luck if maybe there are HTTP headers that might tell it not to include the toolbar. My guess would be no, since this could probably be a security I didn't include any code sample since I didn't think it would factor into it, since what I am asking is if there is any way for the browser to tell Office how to behave when opening this document. The new behavior with Office 2010 isĪ problem since it gives the user the option to edit and save the documents, and when you click save it gives errors as it tries to save using the url of the service as a save path. The mimetype, length, content-disposition are all transfered correctly in the HTTP headers of the request. The tag is indeed an iFrame with it's source being a service that streams the document in the HTTP reply. This is a corporate intranet application, and we are now looking to upgrade our version of Office and found this change in one of our application while testing. What IĪm trying to do is keep the behaviour we had with Office 2003 even if we upgrade. It isn't that the document isn't opening, it is, but that there is now a toolbar and ribbon included within the iframe with Office 2010 that wasn't there with 2003. I think I probably didnt explain my problem clearly enough. But I never like saying something cant be done, so I ask The more I look into this the mode I think it cant really be done since it looks like Office takes charge of the file, and if I read the KB right this might not work anymore with Windows 7 anyway. We also need to keep the document inside of the browser, using the attachment option in the http header to force the download isnt an option. Headers, of saying the file is read-only and to not display the edit ribbons. So I am wondering if there is a way, maybe inside of the HTML This can be a problem since the document inside of the frame isnt linked from sharepoint or anything like it, this gives the user the idea that they can modify the document live on the web site. But we are in the process of upgrading to 2010, yes we skipped 2007, and with 2010 andĢ007 the office toolbar appears inside of the iframe instead of being a simple view. We currently have a web application that streams documents inside of an iframe on request, this works well with our current setup IE8, Windows XP and Office 2003.
